The people AI discourse keeps forgetting

Most AI commentary is written for founders, investors, and developers. The vast majority of people using these tools every day get left to improvise.

When I read most AI coverage I notice the same audience problem. The writing is for people building AI, investing in AI, or shipping AI features. It is rarely for the people who actually have to use the output.

A teacher writing reports, a manager doing performance reviews, a copywriter drafting client emails — they have a different problem. They don't need a take on the model market. They need to know how to use a tool that landed on their desk last quarter without permission.

The honest version of "AI literacy" for those people is small. Pick one workflow that drains your week. Use the tool there. Keep your judgement intact. Notice what it gets wrong. Adjust. The rest of the discourse is noise.
